REPORTS
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2024-11150202, 800 block of S. Arlington Mill Drive. At approximately 7:16 p.m. on November 15, police were dispatched to the report of public intoxication. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the female suspect who exhibited signs of being under the influence. During the course of the investigation, the suspect became noncompliant with officers and she was detained during which she kicked an officer. Medics responded and transported the suspect to an area hospital for further evaluation. During the transport, the suspect assaulted another officer. The officers did not sustain injuries. Angelita Lopez, 19, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Assault on Police (x2) and Public Intoxication. She was held without bond.
BRANDISHING, 2024-11150221, 700 block of Army Navy Drive. At approximately 9:28 p.m. on November 15, police were dispatched to the report of a brandishing. It was determined the female victim was exiting a parking garage in her vehicle when she honked at a vehicle blocking the exit. The driver of the vehicle exited, made threatening statements towards the victim and brandished what appeared to be a firearm. The victim then left the scene. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a Black male driving a black SUV. The investigation is ongoing.
CARJACKING, 2024-11150254, 9th Street S. at S. Buchanan Street. At approximately 11:28 p.m. on November 15, police were dispatched to the report of trouble unknown. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim entered his parked vehicle with Suspect One, who is known to him, and Suspect Two. While inside the vehicle, the suspects assaulted the victim before removing him from the vehicle and fleeing the scene in the stolen vehicle. The victim sustained serious, non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Later in the evening, the stolen vehicle was recovered in the area of 19th Street N. and N. Ode Street. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2024-11170033, 2400 block of S. Monroe Street. At approximately 6:13 a.m. on November 17, police were dispatched to the report of an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was outside when approximately 6-8 male suspects approached him and assaulted him with a baseball bat before stealing his wallet, cellphone and clothing items and fleeing the scene. Medics responded and transported the victim to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The suspects are described as Black males wearing all black clothing and ski masks. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2024-11160043, 500 block of 23rd Street S. At approximately 4:57 a.m. on November 16, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect shattered a window of the closed business, rummaged through the interior, collected merchandise and an undisclosed amount of cash from a register and fled the scene. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as an unknown race male wearing a white shirt. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2024-11180011, 1100 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 12:54 a.m. on November 18, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined approximately four male suspects in ski masks forced entry into the closed business, rummaged through the interior and subsequently fled the scene. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers searched the business and the surrounding area for the suspects yielding negative results. No items were reported stolen. There are no suspect descriptions. The investigation is ongoing.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2024-11150100, 4800 block of 28th Street S. On November 15, police received an online report for an exposure. It was determined at approximately 11:49 p.m., the male victim observed the male suspect expose himself on a security camera before leaving the scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2024-11150036, 2500 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 7:43 a.m. on November 15, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival it was determined at approximately 2:07 a.m., Suspects One and Two forced entry into the closed business by shattering a glass door and entered the business with Suspects Three and Four. The suspects rummaged through the interior, collected merchandise, exited the store and fled the scene in the suspect vehicle, descried as a black SUV. Suspect One is described as a Black male, approximately 17-19 years old wearing all black clothing. Suspect Two is described as a Black male, approximately 17-19 years old wearing a black hoodie, khaki pants, black sneakers and a white face covering. Suspect Three is described as a Black male, approximately 17-19 years old wearing a black and white hoodie, black jeans, black gloves, black face covering and black shoes. Suspect Four is described as a Black male, approximately 17-19 years old wearing a white hoodie, black pants, white sneakers and a black face covering. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY (late), 2024-11150124, 900 block of N. Stafford Street. At approximately 2:05 p.m. on November 15, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined between approximately 10:00 a.m. and 12:46 p.m., the male suspect forced entry into an unoccupied hotel room. An employee confronted the suspect at the room and he subsequently left the scene. The suspect is described as a heavy-set Black male in his 30’s wearing all black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
