REPORTS
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2024-07050060, 1700 block of S. Clark Street. At approximately 8:38 a.m. on July 5, police were dispatched to the report of disorderly conduct for a male allegedly harassing and spitting on passersby. Upon arrival, officers located an individual matching the description provided by witnesses, made contact with him and determined he was drinking in public. The officers attempted to have him leave the area, but he refused. As the officers attempted to place him into custody, the suspect became combative, kicked the door of a police vehicle and spat towards officers. Upon arrival at booking, the suspect refused to exit the transport vehicle and spat on an officer. With the assistance of additional officers, the suspect was brought into booking, during which he kicked, spit on, and attempted to bite the officers. During the course of the investigation, the suspect refused to identify himself and attempts by officers to identify him were unsuccessful. He was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on Law Enforcement (x4), Attempted Destruction of Property, Public Drunkenness, and Drinking Alcohol in Public and booked as a John Doe. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY (Late), 2024-07050179, 1600 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 7:10 p.m. on July 5, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on July 4, suspect(s) entered the victim’s residence and stole electronics and sporting goods. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY MOB (Late), 2024-07050172, 4100 block of 3rd Road N. At approximately 6:30 p.m. on July 5, police were dispatched to the late report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 11:00 p.m. on July 4, the male victim was walking in the area when the two male suspects approached him from behind, knocked him to the ground, assaulted him and struck him with a sharp object, resulting in a stab wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Suspect One is described as a short Hispanic male in his 20s, wearing a black face covering, and a white shirt. Suspect Two is described as a short, Hispanic male in his 20s, wearing a black face covering, and a red shirt. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2024-07050184, 2100 block of 15th Street N. At approximately 7:40 p.m. on July 5, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that a male suspect entered the business and began concealing items in a bag. When the suspect was confronted by an employee, the suspect threw items at and threatened the employee before fleeing the scene on foot with stolen merchandise. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area yielding negative results. The suspect is described a Black male, 5’11-6’ tall, 25-30 years of age, wearing a white collared shirt with stripes, and light washed jeans. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2024-07060141, 1500 block of S. Fern Street. At approximately 8:29 p.m. on July 6, police were dispatched to the report of an alarm. Upon arrival, it was determined that three male suspects entered the business. Suspect One went behind the counter and removed two cash register drawers containing an undisclosed amount of cash, during which he pushed an employee. Suspect Two took possession of the cash drawers while Suspect Three stole merchandise from behind the counter. All three suspects then fled the scene in a silver sedan. The employee sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area yielding negative results. Suspect One is described as a Black male wearing a face covering, neon yellow shirt, and dark pants. Suspect Two is described as a Black male wearing a face covering, blue hoodie, and blue jeans. Suspect Three is described as a Black male wearing a face covering, black hoodie, and dark colored pants. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2024-07070124, 4100 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 4:14 p.m. on July 7, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that a male suspect entered the business and began the process of purchasing an item with an employee. During the checkout process, the suspect lunged over the counter and a struggle over the item ensued between the suspect and the employee. The suspect then pushed and assaulted the employee, stole the item, and fled the scene. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6’ tall, wearing a black bucket hat, white shirt, khaki shorts and white shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2024-07050047, 1100 block of N Stuart Street. At approximately 6:00 a.m. on July 5, police were dispatched to the report of trespassing. Upon arrival, it was determined the homeowner returned to their vacant residential property and observed the male suspect inside. The victim left the residence to contact the police and the suspect subsequently fled the scene. No items were reported stolen or damaged. The investigation is ongoing.
