REPORTS

ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2024-07090142, 900 block of N. Stafford Street. At approximately 4:02 p.m. on July 9, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, the officer observed two males actively involved in a physical altercation in a parking lot and gave them commands to stop. The officer then separated the males, during which the male suspect struck the victim. The officer then deployed OC Spray, striking the suspect. The suspect continued to disregard the officer’s commands and attempted to approach the victim again, during which the officer took the suspect into custody. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim exited the business when the suspect allegedly approached, assaulted him and displayed a knife resulting in a physical altercation. Medics evaluated the suspect on scene. A pocket knife was recovered on scene. Kermit Hutchins, 44, of Clinton, MD was arrested and charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding and Assault and Battery.
