REPORTS
CARJACKING,2024-08010158, 2600 block of Richmond Highway. At approximately 6:03 p.m. on August 1, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that three male suspects entered the parking lot of the business during which Suspect One entered a parked, unoccupied running vehicle. An employee attempted to close the gate to the parking lot when Suspect Two approached, pushed the gate back open, lifted his shirt to display what appeared to be the handle of a firearm and made threatening statements before entering the vehicle with Suspect Three. The suspects then fled the scene in the stolen vehicle which is described as a White Chevrolet Suburban with Florida license plate 99DVZV. No injuries were reported. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area yielding negative results. Suspect One is described as a Black male, approximately 5’8”, approximately in his late 20s, wearing a blue vest and dark pants. Suspect Two is described as a Black male with long dreadlocks, wearing a black hoodie and dark colored shorts. Suspect Three is described as an unknown race male, wearing a light-colored shirt and dark colored shorts. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2024-08010099, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 12:17 p.m. on August 1, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that Suspect One entered the business, collected merchandise and attempted to exit the store during which loss prevention personnel confronted them. The suspect then made threatening statements towards loss prevention personnel and subsequently exited the store without payment. Suspect One then entered a black sedan driven by Suspect Two and fled the scene. No injuries were reported. Suspect One is described as a Black male, 25-30 years of age, approximately 5’9”-5’11”, 180-200 pounds, with shoulder length black dreadlocks, wearing a white tank top and dark colored pants. Suspect Two is described as a Black male. The investigation is ongoing.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING (late), 2024-07310177, 14th Street N. at N. Courthouse Road. At approximately 5:35 p.m. on July 31, police were dispatched to Virginia Hospital Center for the late report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 4:30 p.m., the male suspect and male victim were inside a residence when they became involved in a verbal dispute that escalated to a physical altercation during which the suspect struck the victim. The victim subsequently left the home and self-responded to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area of the incident yielding negative results. During the course of the investigation, officers identified the suspect and obtained warrants for Malicious Wounding. The investigation is ongoing.
