REPORTS
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2023-05120012, 2000 block of S. Eads Street. At approximately 1:53 a.m. on May 12, police were dispatched to the report of a dispute inside the hallway of a residential building. Upon arrival, officers located the involved individuals and during the course of the investigation, observed the suspect allegedly assault the victim. As officers were attempting to take the suspect into custody, she became combative, resisted arrest and kicked the officers. Mauret Church, 26, of Alexandria, VA was arrested and charged with Assault on Police (x2), Obstruction of Justice and Drunk in Public. She was held without bond.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (Significant), 2023-05120032, 1700 block of N. Bryan Street. At approximately 3:52 a.m. on May 12, police were dispatched to the report of a vehicle tampering involving multiple suspects. Upon arrival, an officer observed two male suspects allegedly rummaging through the inside of a vehicle. The officer gave the suspects commands to stop, which they refused to comply with and attempted to flee the scene on foot. The officer initiated a foot pursuit and the suspects were taken into custody with the assistance of additional officers. During the course of the investigation, officers located two additional victim vehicles which had been rummaged through. At the time of report, no items were reported stolen. Saquan Edwards, 18, of Washington, D.C., and Kesean Mcrae, 18, of Washington, D.C., were arrested and charged with Entering Vehicle and Obstruction of Justice. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2023-05110088, 3200 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 11:04 a.m. on May 11, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined an unknown suspect forced entry into a closed business and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
PEEPING (late), 2023-05110155, 300 block of N. Thomas Street. At approximately 3:34 p.m. on May 11, police were dispatched to the late report of a peeping. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 7 p.m. on May 10, the female victims were inside their residence when they heard a noise and observed the unknown suspect outside their window. The suspect left the scene after the victims noticed him. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing a black jacket. The investigation is ongoing.
