REPORTS
ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2023-06160258, 1300 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 9:31 p.m. on June 16, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim and female suspect were inside a vehicle when they became involved in a verbal dispute. During the incident, the suspect allegedly struck the victim resulting in the victim stopping the car and requesting the suspect exit. The suspect then produced a knife and caused damage to the vehicle’s seats. The suspect and victim were evaluated on scene by medics. JaNae Lancaster, 23, of Arlington, Va., was arrested and charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding, Destruction of Property and Drunk in Public.
ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2023-06190148, 5100 block of 7th Road S. At approximately 4:26 p.m. on June 19, police were dispatched to the report of disorderly conduct. Upon arrival, it was determined the female juvenile suspect and the female juvenile victim were involved in a dispute, during which the suspect allegedly followed the victim and displayed an activated taser. The suspect then fled the area and subsequently returned to the scene where officers took her into custody. A taser was recovered on scene and no injuries were reported. A petition for Attempted Malicious Wounding was obtained for the juvenile suspect.
ROBBERY, 2023-06160063, 700 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 9:09 a.m. on June 16, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival it was determined the suspect entered the business, allegedly concealed merchandise and attempted to exit without payment. When confronted by a loss prevention officer, the suspect pushed the loss prevention officer and fled the scene on foot. Responding officers located the suspect in the Metro and gave her commands to stop. She ignored the commands and attempted to run from the scene. The officer took her into custody with the assistance of additional arriving officers. The loss prevention officers sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention. Crystal Sison, 27, of Great Falls, Va. was arrested and charged with Robbery and Obstruction of Justice. She was held on no bond.
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2023-06160187, 800 block of Army Navy Drive. At approximately 4:45 p.m. on June 16, police observed a stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, during which the driver of the suspect vehicle reversed into an occupied police cruiser before fleeing the area. Officers then initiated a vehicle pursuit. The driver eluded police and the suspect vehicle was not located. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a heavy-build, tall, Black male with long dreadlocks, approximately 35-40 years old wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and gray sneakers. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (Series), 2023-06190063, 4800 block of 1st Street N. At approximately 10:03 a.m. on June 19, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined the unknown male suspect forced entry into the business, rummaged through items and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the suspect attempted to force entry into three additional businesses, causing damage. No additional items were reported stolen. The suspect is described as a unknown race male, wearing dark clothing, a face mask and gloves. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (Late), 2023-06160160, 3600 block of N. Rockingham Street. At approximately 2:44 p.m. on June 16, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just discovered. It was determined between approximately 11:15 a.m. and 2:44 p.m., the unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the home and stole jewelry and an undisclosed amount of money. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (Late), 2023-06180221, 1400 block of N. Highland Street. At approximately 9:04 p.m. on June 18, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined between approximately 7:00 p.m. on June 16 and 8:45 p.m. on June 18, the unknown male suspect gained entry into the victims’ residence and stole a backpack, work bag, electronics, jewelry and a firearm. No items were reported damaged. The suspect is described as a tall Black male with black hair, approximately 25-30 years old, 5’9”-6’1”, wearing all black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
