REPORTS

ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2023-07150275, 200 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 11:04 p.m. on July 15, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers made contact with two individuals leaving the business, one of which spat on an officer and was taken into custody. The investigation determined the male suspect and male victim were involved in a verbal dispute outside of the business when the suspect allegedly struck the victim, knocking him to the ground. The suspect continued to assault the victim and stole his cell phone. Another male victim then exited the business and a verbal dispute ensued before he was also assaulted by the suspect. Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries considered non-life threatening. Officers identified the suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. Selbin Rosales Perez, 27, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Assault on Police. He was held without bond. The investigation is ongoing.

ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2023-07150166, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 4:24 p.m. on July 15, police were dispatched to the report of a trespassing. Upon arrival, it was determined the four juveniles, two males and two females, were directed to leave the business and while doing so, three of the juveniles allegedly assaulted security personnel before fleeing the scene on foot. Responding officers located the suspects in the area, gave them commands and attempted to take them into custody during which they resisted arrest and the two male suspects assaulted a police officer. All four juveniles were detained. One security personnel sustained minor injuries. Petitions were sought for one juvenile male suspect for Assault on Police, Assault and Battery and Obstruction of Justice. Petitions were sought for another juvenile male suspect for Assault on Police and Obstruction of Justice. Petitions were sought for the two juvenile female suspects for Assault and Battery and Obstruction of Justice.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2023-07160168, 4900 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 5:01 p.m. on July 16, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect was inside of a parked vehicle when the female suspect approached him. A verbal dispute ensued that escalated to a physical altercation during which a bystander separated the female suspect from the male.  The male suspect then exited the vehicle and struck the female suspect with a wooden object before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. Officers in the area located the suspect vehicle, conducted a traffic stop and took the suspect into custody. The female suspect sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated on scene by medics. Marcel Brown, 32, of Kearneysville, Wv. was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding. Dilmira Takhirova, 37, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery.

ROBBERY, 2023-07160025, 4800 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 1:42 a.m. on July 16, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was walking in the area when he was approached by three male individuals. The suspect then allegedly shoved the victim to the ground and stole his cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then discarded the cell phone on the ground and left the scene with the other two individuals. A short time later, the victim observed the suspect in the area and called police. The suspect was located and taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported. Marlyn Franco, 33, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Robbery and Public Intoxication.

MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED VEHICLE, 2023-07150041, Clarendon Boulevard at N. Fillmore Street. At approximately 1:59 a.m. on July 15, police were dispatched to the report of a dispute in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined the suspect was walking in the area when he became involved in disputes with other individuals. As the suspect continued walking on Clarendon Boulevard, he allegedly picked up a folding chair and threw it at an unrelated vehicle traveling in the area. A responding officer took the suspect into custody on scene. The passengers inside the vehicle did not report any injuries and the vehicle remained operational once the folding chair was removed from the vehicle’s wheel well. Milos Manic, 39, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Unlawfully Throwing a Missile at an Occupied Vehicle.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2023-07160099, 300 block of N. Thomas Street. At approximately 10:24 a.m. on July 16, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined an male suspect entered the victim’s residence and was located inside by responding officers. Jose Rivera Flores, 39, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (Significant), 2023-07150061, 200 block of N. Piedmont Pike. At approximately 3:48 a.m. on July 15, police were dispatched to the report of a vehicle tampering. The reporting party advised they had observed three suspects allegedly steal a catalytic converter and flee the scene in a vehicle. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the area of 14th Street S. and S. Monroe Street. The investigation determined the suspect vehicle was displaying a stolen license plate and during a search of the vehicle, burglarious tools and a catalytic converter were recovered. Alan Chirinos-Zuniga, 18; Daniel Orellana Orellana, 21; and Jonathan Membreno-Romero, 20, all of Baltimore, MD, were arrested and charged with Entering a Motor Vehicle, Removal of a Catalytic Converter and Possession of Burglarious Tools.

BRANDISHING, 2023-07150242, 300 block of N. Thomas Street. At approximately 9:04 p.m. on July 15, police were dispatched to the report of a fight possibly involving a firearm. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim and three known individuals became involved in a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical altercation. During the incident, one suspect allegedly brandished a firearm before fleeing the scene in a black sedan with the two other involved individuals. The victim reported minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2023-07160101, 900 block of Army Navy Drive. At approximately 10:59 a.m. on July 16, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, concealed items and attempted to exit the store before being confronted by a loss prevention officer. The suspect then pushed the loss prevention officer, exited the store and fled the scene in a vehicle. No injuries were reported. Officers canvassed the area for the suspect vehicle yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male with facial hair, approximately 5’8”, 200 pounds, wearing a black hat, black shorts and pink socks. The suspect vehicle is described as a white SUV. The investigation is ongoing.
