REPORTS
ROBBERY, 2023-04180171, 400 block of 23rd Street S. At approximately 4:22 p.m. on April 18, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, responding officers located the suspect in the area and took him into custody without incident. The investigation determined the suspect became involved in a dispute with an employee of a business regarding payment, during which the suspect allegedly implied he had a weapon before exiting the business. The suspect then returned to the business, stole a beverage, exited and threw it against the window. No injuries were reported. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the suspect had entered into a nearby business earlier in the day from which he had been previously banned. Charles Middleton, 33, of Bowie, Md., was arrested and charged with Robbery, Trespassing, and Drunk in Public. He was held on no bond.
BURGLARY, 2023-04190013, 2700 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 1:08 a.m. on April 19, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined two unknown suspects forced entry into the business, stole merchandise and caused damage before fleeing the scene on foot. Responding officers established a perimeter and canvassed the area for the suspects yielding negative results. Suspect One is described as a thin-build Black male, approximately 5’6”-5’9”, wearing all-black clothing and a gray backpack. Suspect Two is a thin-build unknown race male, approximately 5’6”-5’9”, wearing all-black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2023-04190021, 1500 block of S. Fern Street. At approximately 3:14 a.m. on April 19, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just discovered. Upon arrival, it was determined the unknown suspects forced entry into the business, caused damage to an ATM, and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY (late), 2023-04180187, 2800 block of 8th Street S. At approximately 4:52 p.m. on April 18, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 10:08 a.m., the known suspect gained entry into the victim’s residence. No items were reported stolen or damaged. The victim was provided information regarding the process for obtaining warrants. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY (Late), 2023-04180113, 200 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 11:35 a.m. on April 18, police were dispatched to the late report of an attempted breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined between approximately 7:30 p.m. on April 17 and 11:00 a.m. on April 18, the unknown suspect(s) attempted to force entry into the business, causing damage to the door. No items were reported stolen. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
