REPORTS
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2022-02200034, 1200 block of N. Courthouse Road. At approximately 2:06 a.m. on February 20, police were dispatched to the report of an assault with injury. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was with a group of individuals inside a hotel when she became involved in a verbal dispute with the known suspect. The suspect allegedly struck the victim in the head with a glass bottle and the victim was able to remove herself and exit the building. Once outside, the suspect exited the building, approached the victim and again struck her in the head with his fist. The victim sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported by medics to an area hospital. The suspect was later located and charged. Christopher Funes-Recinos, 19, of Alexandria, Va., was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding. He was held on no bond.
ROBBERY, 2022-02200253, 2400 block of Crystal Drive. At approximately 7:55 p.m. on February 20, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined that as the victim was exiting a business, he was approached by approximately ten juvenile subjects. The victim placed food items into his backseat and began to enter into the driver's seat when the subjects allegedly opened the car door, stole the food items and struck the victim in the face before fleeing the scene on foot. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers located the subjects in the area of the 300 block of 23rd Street S. and detained them without incident. The subjects were released from the scene to their guardians. The investigation is ongoing.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2022-02210274, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 6:58 p.m. on February 21, police were dispatched to the report of an indecent exposure. Upon arrival, officers located the male suspect inside the business and took him into custody without incident. The investigation determined that an employee observed the suspect allegedly with his hands in his pants masturbating. He was also observed concealing merchandise on his person. Marvin Carter, 30, of No Fixes Address, was arrested and charged with Public Masturbation and Petit Larceny. He was held on no bond.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY (late), 2022-02220002, 900 block of N. Pollard Street. At approximately 12:03 a.m. on February 22, police were dispatched to the report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, officers met with the reporting party and observed the front glass door to the business shattered. Responding officers conducted a search of the business and surrounding area with negative results. During the course of the investigation, officers observed a cash register on the ground that had been opened and merchandise rummaged through. At the time of the report, no items were reported stolen. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM (late), 2022-02200149, 1300 block of S. Scott Street. At approximately 12:23 p.m. on February 20, police were dispatched to the late report of shots heard. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 4:00 a.m., the victim was inside the residence when he heard what appeared to be a gunshot and observed a small hole in the window and window screen. Responding officers observed the damage and located a bullet inside the window. No other items were reported damaged. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
PEEPING, 2022-02180255, 1800 block of Queens Lane. At approximately 9:22 p.m. on February 18, police were dispatched to the report of a peeping. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was inside her residence when she observed the unknown male suspect looking inside her window. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a White male, approximately 20 to 40 years old with brown hair. The investigation is ongoing.
