REPORTS
BRANDISHING, 2022-08240184, Clarendon Boulevard and N. Troy Street. At approximately 6:11 p.m. on August 24, police were dispatched to the report of a brandishing. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. The investigation determined the suspect was illegally parked when the victim approached on foot and confronted him. The suspect then exited his vehicle and allegedly retrieved a weapon, which was later determined to be an airsoft gun, from the trunk. The victim safely left the area and no injuries were reported. The driver was suspected of driving under the influence. Fernando Yu Shan, 28, of Fairfax, VA was arrested and charged with Brandishing, Driving Under the Influence and Driving with a Suspended License. He was held on bond.
ASSAULT & BATTERY ON POLICE, 2022-08240063, 4600 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 8:32 a.m. on August 24, police were dispatched to the report of an individual allegedly exposing himself in the courtyard of a residential property. The responding officer located the suspect and attempted to detain him while investigating the incident. The suspect refused to follow of the officer’s commands, pushed the officer and fled into a residence. With the assistance of additional units, the suspect was taken into custody without incident. During the course of the investigation, the suspect provided false identifying information. Nicholas Johns, 25, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on Police, Identity Theft and Indecent Exposure. He was held on bond.
