REPORTS

ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, 2022-08200075, 20th Street S. and Richmond Highway. At approximately 3:54 a.m. on August 20, a patrol officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and attempted a traffic stop in the 2400 block of S. Eads Street. The driver disregarded the officer’s emergency equipment and fled from the stop. At approximately 8:00 a.m., officers observed the vehicle traveling in the area of 20th Street S. and Richmond Highway and attempted a second traffic stop. The driver accelerated, struck a police cruiser with his vehicle, and fled onto Richmond Highway. A vehicle pursuit was initiated and subsequently terminated in Washington D.C. due to the driver’s erratic behavior. Shortly afterwards, officers observed the vehicle reenter the County and reinitiated the pursuit. The driver exited the vehicle in the 800 block of Army Navy Drive and attempted to flee the scene on foot. Following a foot pursuit, officers took the suspect into custody. A search of the suspect incident to arrest yielded suspected narcotics. Adrian Molina, 19, of Springfield, VA was arrested and charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding of a Law Enforcement Officer, Felony Hit and Run, Felony Eluding (x3), Possession of a Schedule I/II Narcotic, Obstruction of Justice and Driving without a License.

ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT, 2022-08220012, 3100 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 1:35 a.m. on August 22, police were dispatched to the report of an intoxicated individual. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the male suspect and attempted to have him secure a safe ride home. The suspect ignored the officer’s instructions and became disorderly and uncooperative. As officers attempted to take the suspect into custody, he actively resisted arrest and a physical struggle ensued. With the assistance of additional officers, the suspect was successfully detained. While being walked to a transport vehicle, the suspect assaulted the arresting officer. Malike Brittain, 27 of Washington, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer, Public Intoxication and Obstruction of Justice. He was held without bond.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2022-08210124, 800 block of Army Navy Drive. At approximately 3:23 p.m. on August 21, police were dispatched to the report of an indecent exposure that had just occurred. Upon arrival, the victim stated she was going to exit her parked vehicle when she observed the unknown male suspect allegedly exposing himself in the car parked next to hers. The suspect was located on scene and taken into custody without incident. Berrino McClary, 40, of Kingstree, SC, was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure. He was held without bond.

ROBBERY, 2022-08190098, 1800 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 1:19 p.m. on August 19, police were dispatched to the report of a 911 call. Upon arrival, it was determined the unknown male suspect approached a cashier, requested cigarettes and after being run up, refused to pay and took the item’s from the cashier’s hands. The suspect then fled the scene on foot traveling  eastbound on Clarendon Boulevard. The suspect is described as a Black male, muscular build, approximately 40-45 years old, 6’4, wearing a gray t-shirt and dark pants. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY (Late), 2022-08200164, 2600 block of S. Arlington Mill Drive. At approximately 5:43 p.m. on August 20, police were dispatched to an unrelated call for service when the juvenile victim reported a late robbery. The investigation determined that at approximately 12:00 p.m., the juvenile male victim was walking on the trail adjacent to the Shirlington dog park when he was approached by four unknown suspects, one of who pressed a metal object against his back. The suspects stole the victim’s wallet containing an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported. There is no description for the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.  

ROBBERY, 2022-08210084, 1500 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 10:56 a.m. on August 21, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that the known male suspect and female victim became involved in a verbal dispute, during which the suspect allegedly stole the victim’s purse containing her cell phone, keys, and wallet containing an undisclosed amount of cash and personal items before fleeing the scene on foot. Responding officers conducted a search of the area which concluded with negative results. Warrants for Robbery and Grand Larceny were obtained for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2022-08190240, 500 block of 23rd Street S. At approximately 10:54 p.m. on August 19, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary alarm. Arriving officers searched the business and did not locate anyone inside. The investigation determined that at approximately 10:51 p.m., the unknown suspect forced entry into the closed business and stole merchandise before fleeing the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a White/Hispanic male with dark hair wearing a black hat, black facemask, white t-shirt, black pants and black gloves. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2022-08190244, 1900 block of N. Quantico Street. At approximately 11:20 p.m. on August 19, police were dispatched to the report of an attempted burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was inside their residence when they heard someone attempting to push open their front door. The victim turned on their lights and the suspect fled. The suspect is described as a male, 5’8” tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black puffy jacket, black coveralls, boots, and a hat. The investigation is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2022-08190146, 200 block of N. Abingdon Street. At approximately 5:44 p.m. on August 21, police were dispatched to the report of an attempted breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined that the residents returned home and located a broken glass pane on the door to the home. No items were reported stolen and there is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY (Late), 2022-08210133, 1800 block of Richmond Highway. At approximately, 4:41 p.m. on August 21, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 4:00 a.m. on August 20, the male suspect allegedly entered into the secured office space and stole two master keys. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 30-35 years old, 5’11”-6’1”, 180-200 pounds. The investigation is ongoing.
