REPORTS
LARCENY/ROBBERY, 2022-03310105/03310115, 1400 block of S. Hayes Street/1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 12:33 p.m. on March 31, police were dispatched to the report of a shoplifting in the 1400 block of S. Hayes Street. Upon arrival, officers met with loss prevention employees who had detained the suspect. The investigation determined that the suspect entered into the business, allegedly concealed merchandise into a bag and attempted to leave without paying before being confronted by an employee. The suspect was banned from the property and released on a summons for Petit Larceny. At approximately 1:33 p.m., police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred in the 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect entered into the business, selected clothing items and attempted to leave without paying when two loss prevention employees confronted him. A brief struggle ensued, during which the suspect allegedly pushed and struck both employees. The employees detained the suspect until the arrival of police. Adrian Chavez Gonzalez, 26, of Cheltenham, Md., was arrested and charged with Robbery(x2), Trespassing, and Shoplifting. He was held on a secured bond.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2022-04010036, 3200 block of Langston Boulevard. At approximately 3:05 a.m. on April 1, police were dispatched to the report of a breaking and entering in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed the front glass door to the business shattered and the suspect inside. Officers entered the business and took the suspect into custody without incident. Abdul Satar, 24, of Falls Church, Va., was arrested and charged with Destruction of Property, Unlawful Entry, and Public Drunkenness. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY (Late), 2022-03310039, 2800 block of S. Abingdon Street. At approximately 5:20 a.m. on March 31, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that between approximately 9:00 p.m. on March 30 and 5:15 a.m. on March 31, the unknown suspect(s) entered into the occupied residence and stole the victim’s purse containing credit cards, personal documentation and an undisclosed amount of cash. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
