County Treasurer Honored at 2022 TAV Annual Conference
Published on July 15, 2022
Arlington County Treasurer Carla de la Pava received the President’s Award for her service and leadership to the Treasurers’ Association of Virginia (TAV). The award was presented during the association’s annual conference in June. It is the second time de la Pava has be recognized with the President’s Award.
"The TAV is such a valuable resource for Treasurers across the Commonwealth, and I am honored to have my contributions recognized," said de la Pava. Ms. de la Pava also received the TAV’s prestigious Treasurer of the Year Award in 2020.
Having served two consecutive terms as President of the TAV for 2019 and 2020, de la Pava noted, "I am honored to serve Arlington County, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and my fellow Treasurers."
First elected as Treasurer in 2014, de la Pava served six years prior to that as Chief Deputy Treasurer. She is the first female and first Hispanic to be elected Treasurer in Arlington. One measure of a Treasurer’s Office’s effectiveness is the tax delinquency rate, which for Arlington County in 2021 was just 0.18% -- the lowest in Virginia.
