5 Valentine's Day Date Ideas to Spread Love, Not COVID
Published on February 10, 2021
The COVID-19 pandemic has meant continued creativity as we celebrate special occasions at home, and Valentine's Day is no different. While a date night out on the town may not be recommended this year, a special evening at home can be more romantic and memorable than anything you've done in the past.
It's important to prioritize the safety of yourself and others as COVID-19 transmissions continue to spread throughout communities. Since the safest way to celebrate Valentine's Day is at home, with the people who live -- and love -- with you, here are five date-night ideas to help ensure you spread love, not COVID:
1. Have a candlelit wine and cheese night at home
Pick up wine, cheeses, and charcuterie to make a fancy cheese board with your partner. Light a candle, play music, and pretend you're at a Parisian café.
2. Recreate your first date, but in your living room
Relive your first date from the comfort of your home. If you went to a coffee shop, swing by to pick up scones and drinks to enjoy at home. If you went out to dinner, recreate the menu and cook up what you ate that night.
3. Travel the world from your couch
Tour
Angkor Wat, hike the
Grand Canyon, or explore the
canals of Venice from your living room with technology like
Google Treks. Learn about new cultures, see world wonders, and even pair a themed a cocktail or dinner to match your destination.
4. Make an at-home spa
Relax and recharge with your own spa day. Put on robes, light candles, and indulge in face masks, bath bombs, and bonbons.
5. Have a pajama party
Get comfy with a movie, your favorite pajamas and take out from a
local restaurant. Wait ... that's how we've spent the past 11 months. That said, a pajama movie night is a great way to relax with your loved one (and the kids, too!).
