REPORTS
ASSAULT & BATTERY ON POLICE, 2019-10050119, 1200 block of S. Eads Street. At approximately 10:16 a.m. on October 5, police were dispatched to the report of a trespasser inside a residential building. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect became irate after engaging in a verbal dispute with staff. The suspect then left the leasing office, but remained in the building, where he was located by police. Arriving officers made contact with the suspect, who continued to act disorderly, disobeyed lawful commands and attempted to strike two officers with closed fists. A brief struggled ensued and the officers deployed their tasers prior to taking the suspect into custody. Amro Ali, 33, of Arlington, Va., was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on Police (x2). He was held on no bond.
BURGLARY, 2019-10030116, 5100 block of Lee Highway. At approximately 11:25 a.m. on October 3, police were dispatched to the late report of an attempted burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 12:45 a.m. and 1:15 a.m. on October 3, an unknown suspect attempted unsuccessfully to gain entry to a business, causing damage. There is no suspect description. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2019-10040274, 2500 block of Lee Highway. At approximately 10:39 p.m. on October 4, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary alarm. Upon arrival, it was determined that an unknown suspect gained entry to a business and stole a vehicle utilizing keys located onsite. The suspect is descried as a black male, approximately 5'9", in his late 30's, with a bald head, wearing a black hoodie. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2019-10050275, 2500 block of Lee Highway. At approximately 11:48 p.m. on October 5, police were dispatched to the report of a vehicle tampering. Upon arrival, it was determined that a witness heard the sound of glass breaking and observed three unknown suspects in the parking lot of a business. The suspects forced entry to the business, causing damage, and stole items of value. The suspects fled prior to police arrival. The suspects are described as black males. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2019-1060196, 1300 block of N. Jackson Street. At approximately 8:46 p.m. on October 6, police were dispatched to the late report of destruction of property. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 12:00 a.m. on October 3 and 8:46 p.m. on October 6, an unknown suspect forced entry to a residence, causing damage. Nothing was reported missing from the residence. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2019-10050164, 5100 block of Lee Highway. At approximately 1:55 p.m. on October 5, police were dispatched to the late report of breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 2:30 a.m. and 9:06 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) forced entry to a business and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY (late), 2019-10050158, 3600 block of N. Harrison Street. At approximately 2:29 p.m. on October 5, police were dispatched to the late report of breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined that between October 4 at 5:30 p.m. and October 5 at 8:00 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) gained entry to a vacant residence, tampered with items and caused damage. Nothing was reported missing from the residence. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
