REPORTS
ASSAULT BY MOB, 2019-03100151, 2400 block of 24
th Road S. At approximately 5:18 p.m. on March 10, police were dispatched to the report of trouble unknown. Upon arrival, it was determined that a verbal dispute between a known male and the female victim escalated and became physical when two female suspects and an additional female arrived at the residence out of concern for the male. A physical altercation ensued and the two suspects assaulted the female victim. A second female attempted to intervene, but the suspects assaulted her and the second suspect grabbed her, causing her to stop breathing briefly. The second suspect fled prior to police arrival, but officers later made contact with her via phone. The two female victims were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Destiny Gaskins was arrested and charged with Assault by Mob (x2). Nellie Gaskins, 47, of Washington D.C., was arrested and charged Assault by Mob (x2) and Strangulation.
BURGLARY, 2019-03080069, 2000 block of 14
th Street N. At approximately 7:20 a.m. on March 8, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect had allegedly forced entry to the suite, causing damage, and stolen items of value from elsewhere on the floor. Arriving officers located the suspect still inside the building in possession of stolen items of value. Khalil Nealis, 23, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Burglary, Possession of Burglarous Tools and Unlawful Entry. He was held on no bond.
ROBBERY (late), 2019-03080223, 5100 block of 8
th Road S. At approximately 6:26 p.m. on March 8, police were dispatched to the late report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 2:45 p.m., while the victim and a friend were walking in the area, they were approached by four known suspects. The suspects surrounded the victim and one suspect shoved the victim, while another demanded the victim empty his pockets and subsequently stole the victim's personal belongings. The victim was then threatened by two other suspects. The suspects fled on foot. Suspect One is described as a black male, approximately 15-18 years old, 5'7" and 150 lbs. Suspect Two is described as a white male, approximately 15-18 years old, 5'5"-5'6", and 120-140 lbs. Suspect Three is described as a white male, approximately 15-18 years old, and 5'5"-5'7". The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (series), 2019-03090092/03090144/3090162, 2600 block of N. Powhatan Street/2600 block of N. Powhatan Street/6200 block of 27
th Street N. At approximately 8:42 a.m. on March 9, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just discovered. Upon arrival, it was determined that between March 8 at 4:00 p.m. and March 9 at 8:30 a.m. an unknown suspect(s) forced entry, causing damage, to two residences and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and items of value. A third residence was entered, but no damage was reported and nothing was reported missing. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
