REPORTS
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2022-03110199, 2200 block of Shirlington Road. At approximately 5:30 p.m. on March 11, police were dispatched to the report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was in the stairwell of the residential building when the known suspect approached him from behind and began physically assaulting him. A brief struggle ensued, during which the suspect struck the victim with scissors before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and declined the treatment of medics. A warrant for Malicious Wounding was obtained for the suspect.
BURGLARY (late), 2022-03100252, 1000 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 9:25 p.m. on March 10, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, responding officers cleared the business with negative results. The investigation determined that at approximately 8:45 p.m., the unknown suspect forced entry into the business and walked throughout the store before fleeing the scene on foot. No items were reported stolen. There is no suspect description. The investigation is ongoing.
