REPORTS
SHOT FIRED, 2022-08150067, 2300 block of Kenmore Street. At approximately 11:25 a.m. on August 15, police were dispatched to the report of shots heard. Upon arrival, officers recovered evidence in the roadway confirming a shot had been fired. A gray or silver vehicle was reportedly seen leaving the area after the incident. No injuries or property damage have been reported and there is no suspect description at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2022-08150156, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 6:29 p.m. on August 15, police were dispatched to the report of a shoplifter in custody. Arriving officers observed the suspect and loss prevention officers in a physical struggle. While officers were taking the suspect into custody, he attempted to kick officers and resisted arrest. A search of the suspect’s person incident to arrest yielded suspected narcotics. The investigation determined the suspect entered the business, which he had previously been banned from, and allegedly took several items before attempting to leave without paying. Amine Loutfi, 18, of No Fixed Address was charged with Robbery, Trespassing, Obstruction of Justice and Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance (x2). He was held without bond.
