GALLERY CLARENDON Features “Signs Of The Times” in January
Dates: January 5, 2019 – January 31, 2019
Opening Reception and Meet the Artists: Friday, January 11, 5-8pm
During January, the Arlington Artists Alliance is proud to present the national juried show “Signs of the Times” at Gallery Clarendon.
Works have been drawn from across the country for this show and interpret the signs of our times in ways which may be real or imagined, literal or figurative, positive or negative. Art styles range from traditional to conceptual, in two-dimensional and three-dimensional works that address, question, protest and celebrate our changing and diverse world. This exhibition show is juried by Bev Ryan, local artist and instructor at the Art League. Many of her own installations are reflective of the show’s theme making her an ideal choice as jurist.
This exhibition runs from January 5 -31, 2019 with the Opening Reception on Friday, January 11 from 5 – 8PM.
Located in the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia, this popup art space showcases local art, offers classes, hosts events and manages on-site professional artists’ studios. The group’s other show space is Gallery Underground within Art Underground in Arlington’s Crystal City area.
The Arlington Artists Alliance also offers both day and evening art classes at this location in a variety of media for all ages. Of additional interest to the community are the Studios Clarendon artist studios on the second floor of Gallery Clarendon. Open to the public during normal Gallery hours, they provide an intriguing artistic destination for area residents, employees, and visitors.
The Arlington Artists Alliance is a vital, energetic, creative force for visual art in Arlington County. The organization encourages and supports both established and emerging artists who work in all forms of visual art, without partiality toward style or trend. Its 150 members also exhibit year-round at a variety of Arlington community venues, including Gallery Underground in Crystal City, local government offices, businesses, restaurants and cafes.
