Navigating Real Estate and the New Tax Law: Insights on Purchasing and Financing After the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
Purchasing and financing a home or rental property was already complicated. All those price and financing decisions! The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed in December 2017 changed some of the tax rules that determine how those decisions are made. Figuring out your price range, financing options, and after-tax ownership cost looks very different than it used to. If you don’t know about the new tax rules, you run the risk of an expensive surprise that can derail your plans.
This workshop is designed to raise the awareness about the impact of the new tax law on purchasing and financing a home or rental property, for both existing and prospective real estate owners. Three experienced professionals – a real estate agent, mortgage lender, and tax practitioner – share their insights based on questions and issues they encounter day-to-day with their clients. Participants are encouraged to bring their own questions about real estate purchasing, financing and related tax matters and hear what our subject matter experts have to say.
