December 2021 County Board Meeting Agenda Highlights The Arlington County Board will consider and act on dozens of items at its Regular Board Meeting on Sat., Dec. 11, and its Recessed Meeting on Tue., Dec. 14, 2021. 

N Sycamore Street (N Langston Blvd to 19th St N) through Dec. 12: Share your experiences and feedback on the Complete Streets project at this virtual open house.

Plan Langston Blvd. Online Meeting, Dec. 13, 7 p.m.: Review the Land Use Scenario feedback summary and discuss how to manage change and other topics of interest and concern to the communities living and working along Langston Boulevard. 

Aircraft Noise Mitigation Study Community MeetingDec. 13, 6:30-8 p.m.: The third community meeting for the Arlington County / Montgomery County joint Aircraft Noise Mitigation Study for communities north of Reagan National Airport (DCA) will be held virtually via Facebook LIVE. The study team will provide a status update on the overall study, present draft recommendations for departure procedures and take questions and comments from community members.  

Vision Zero Mid-Year Progress Meeting, Dec. 14, 7-8:30 p.m.  Virtual meeting - bring your questions and feedback and learn more about our progress on the Vision Zero Action Plan. For more information, visit the Vision Zero program website.

Lubber Run Park Pedestrian Bridge Renovation - Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts regarding the draft design for the Lubber Run Pedestrian Bridge. We appreciate your input. Review the update on the project shared by staff at the Nov. 17 Arlington Forest Civic Association meeting.    

What We Heard: Plan Langston Boulevard Land Use Scenario Analysis: Take a look at the Summary of the Feedback(PDF, 11MB)  received for the entire corridor, organized by topic and including a summary by neighborhood area. View the study’s Documents page to dig into the raw data collected for the entire corridor and each neighborhood area as we work to develop a Preliminary Concept Plan.

Arlington’s Vision Zero team released its first official update on Vision Zero action items and checkpoint for initial feedback to help steer the program. The report provides updates on key accomplishments for the Vision Zero program within 2021, latest available Vision Zero metrics, and updates on individual action items.  View the updates.

Community Oversight Board and Independent Policing Auditor: To improve transparency and accountability in the police department, the County Board has established a Community Oversight Board (COB) with independent investigative and subpoena power, and an Independent Policing Auditor.
