DMV & DMV Select Closed. Visit DMV’s Online Services to access many available transactions.
Human Services Closed.
  • Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services, and Mental Health Emergency Services open 24/7/365.

Parks & Recreation Facilities & Programs

All Community Centers are closed.

  • Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center - Closed

Parking Permit parking is always in effect unless specifically noted on the sign. Meters are not enforced on holidays.

Sheriff’s Office Administrative Offices closed. Fingerprinting for the public and county employees are open Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

  • ART – ART 41, 42, 45, 51, 55 and 87 will operate on Sunday schedules. All other ART routes will not operate. The ART Customer Call Center will be closed.
  • STAR – The STAR Call Center will be closed. All standing orders, except for dialysis, will be canceled. Call before the holidays to request a trip. 
  • Metrorail & Metrobus Schedule

Closed – CAPP available for online payments 24 hours a day.

 

Arlington County Government offices and facilities are closed on all federal holidays except Indigenous People’s Day.

Parking

  • Permit parking is always in effect unless specifically noted on the sign.
  • Meters are not enforced on Federal holidays, including Columbus Day or on County holidays (dates listed below) 
  • All other violations will be enforced.
  • Some parking restrictions may apply during special events. Motorists should look for temporary “no parking” signs.

*In general, if a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday will be treated as a holiday and if a holiday falls on a Sunday the following Monday will be treated as a holiday.
