CONSTUCTION UPDATE, JANUARY 18, 2018

The Lang Street Project has almost completed construction. There are some minor punch list items that need to be finished and the Carlyle lights are not yet energized. Staff anticipates those lights will be energized in the next several weeks.

About the Project

Pedestrian safety and street improvement project on Lang Street South from Arlington Ridge Road to 28th Street South:

  • A new 5’ sidewalk is proposed for the east side of the street (house side)
  • A utility strip will also be included as part of the project and will be adjacent to the proposed sidewalk
  • The utility strip will vary in width from 2 and a half feet to almost 7 feet.
  • Street trees and Carlyle street lights will also be a part of the project and will go into the proposed utility strip.
  • Parking will be removed on the west side of the street in order to accommodate room for the improvements.
  • The roadway will be narrowed but still have two travel lanes in each direction and will not be a yield street. The roadway width will be approximately 30 feet.
