Traffic Signal Standards & Specifications Updates

Traffic signal design and construction within Arlington County shall follow the latest editions of the Arlington County Traffic Signal Standards and Specifications. Also, the traffic signal design that requires Arlington County’s review and approval shall be designed using Arlington County Traffic Signal Design Templates.

The Arlington County Traffic Signal Standards and Specifications are applicable for all signals operated and maintained by Arlington County. These standards and specifications shall be supplemental to the information contained in the VDOT Road and Bridge Standards/Specifications, and County guidance shall take precedence where conflicts exist.

The website contains the latest editions of the Arlington County Traffic Signal Design Templates as well as the Arlington County Traffic Signal Standards and Specifications. As the documents are revised, revisions will be detailed on this site.
