About Tax Sales

The Treasurer of Arlington County periodically sells property at public auction to satisfy delinquent taxes. Real property in Arlington County can be sold if taxes are delinquent on December 31 two years after they were due. Arlington County does not sell tax liens or certificates. The real property sale process usually requires court approval before an auction can be held, and there are no fixed dates for such auctions.

Taxing Authority Consulting Services (TACS) facilitates the County's real estate tax sales. To be added to the TACS distribution list for upcoming real estate tax sales, please visit the TACS website and under “Interested Bidders Sign-up” (bottom right of screen), click “SIGN UP!” Provide the required information and click “SUBSCRIBE.” If you have any questions, please contact Cathryn Bertram with TACS at 804-545-2377.
