Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a replacement program for EasyPark?

There are no plans to replace EasyPark with any other type of in-vehicle parking meter.  In most major cities, paying for parking is now software-based via a smartphone app.  Individual parking hardware, like an EasyPark device, is being replaced by smartphone apps. Even parking meters have gone digital by accepting debit/credit cards plus accepting payments via smartphone apps.

Contactless parking is available throughout Arlington County with ParkMobile and it allows to you pay for parking from your smartphone. For more information, visit ParkMobile for details.

I love my EasyPark device. How long can I continue to use it?

You may use the device until the balance is $0, or until it stops working.  After February 28, you will not be able to add more money to your device. If the device stops working, no replacements or refunds are possible.

Mobile parking payment is still available on your smartphone through Parkmobile - visit this webpage for more information about Arlington County's Paying for Parking program or go to the ParkMobile website.

I have not used my EasyPark device for a very long time. Do I need to do anything?

No, you can still use your device after February 28, subject to the risks below:

•   If your device stops working or breaks, it cannot be replaced.
•   If your device stops working or breaks, no refund of any remaining balance is possible.
If you receive a parking ticket while using your device, there is no technical support to verify proper usage for parking ticket appeals

I have money left on my EasyPark Device and know I'll never use it. Can I get a refund?

Yes, provided the device still works. Please bring it to the Treasurer’s Office so we can issue a refund for the remaining balance.

I think I have money left on my EasyPark device, but it does not work. Can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, no.  We must have proof of a remaining balance to issue a refund, and only a working device will display the remaining balance.

What happens if I get a parking ticket after February 28 while using my EasyPark device?

There is no technical support after February 28, so the Treasurer’s Office will be unable to verify your parking session for the purposes of parking ticket appeals.
