RIP Volunteer Safety Guidelines

Per Virginia Governor’s orders, the following safety measures  for volunteer projects in our parks are in place. Please follow these as you work, and thank you so much for your enthusiasm and care.

  • All volunteers must be preregistered. Please email naturalresources@arlingtonva.us to reserve your spot and make sure space is still available.
  • Volunteers must sign the one day registration form.
  • Volunteers should NOT participate if they have a fever, cough or difficulty breathing, or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
  • Instructors and participants may be screened prior to the start of the program using the pre-set questions in the Governor’s plan. Records of participants responses will not be stored.
  • Masks should be worn at all times. Masks are not provided by the County; please bring your own.
  • All staff and participants are required to maintain at least 6 feet of physical distancing between each other.
  • Please bring your own work gloves and tools. IF you do not have gloves or tools, they will be provided.  Gloves are yours to keep; do not return them.  Tools and any shared equipment will be cleaned and disinfected after each use.
  • As always, volunteers should dress for the weather, and wear long pants, long sleeve shirts, and close-toed shoes.  Bring a water bottle, and use bug spray and sunscreen as appropriate.
