Crossman Run Stormwater Improvements
The Crossman Run watershed is one of five critical watersheds identified for stormwater capacity improvements. The watershed includes the Arlington-East Falls Church Civic Association near the intersection of N Sycamore St and Lee Highway.
An initial project to improve capacity at 24th and Rockingham was constructed in 2017. A second phase of capacity improvements was previously planned but flood patterns tracked since 2018 and constraints the prevent access to the system’s main trunk line have stimulated exploration of alternative concepts for addressing concentrated, elevated flood risk areas.
