Torreyson Run Stormwater Improvements

The Torreyson Run watershed(PDF, 23MB)  is one of the critical watersheds identified for stormwater capacity improvements. The watershed includes Westover Shopping District, Cardinal Elementary School, and four Civic Associations: Highland Park – Overlee Knolls, Leeway Overlee, Tara Leeway Heights, and Westover Village.

A new capacity project at Cardinal Elementary School was completed in 2023 and will help reduce flooding risk at Westover Shopping District and surrounding and downstream areas.

Torreyson Run is one of the critical watersheds identified for stormwater capacity improvements. This map shows flood damage calls and high risk flooding projects identified in the Stormwater Master Plan.  

Engagement

Stormwater staff has met frequently with community members and businesses in the Torreyson Run watershed. See the Cardinal School Stormwater Vault project page for additional engagement.
