Overview

Arlington’s low vacancy rate can make it difficult for families with limited financial resources to find housing. However, affordable housing is available at numerous apartment complexes in Arlington. Most of the complexes listed below were built, acquired or renovated with public funds as part of their financing, or else had units set aside as affordable through a special exception site plan process.

• To receive a monthly Available Committed Affordable Apartments list, subscribe via email.
• County Housing Grants and the federally funded Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly Section 8), which are accepted by the properties listed below, provide rental assistance for households with low to moderate incomes.
• Many of these apartment complexes have waiting lists for affordable units. Contact them by phone to learn how to apply.
• Search for affordable units via the Virginia Housing search tool website.
