The County Zoning Ordinance provides a public review process for special exceptions to allow greater flexibility in use, density and form of private development in Arlington. Affordable housing tools are available as part of these special exceptions.
Arlington County works with developers to package local, state, and federal financing resources to support housing acquisition, rehabilitation and new construction. Financing programs include low-interest loans for affordable housing development, tax exemptions, bond financing, historic preservation and low-income housing tax credits.
