The Humanities encompass oral history, spoken word, and literature which are the cornerstones of all societies and something we seek to celebrate and elevate in Arlington.

The performing arts is one of the best connectors for people and communities. In Arlington, signature festivals like the Rosslyn Jazz Festival draw over 10,000 people from all around the Metro DC area, while festivals like the Columbia Pike Blues Festival celebrates the vibrant culture of one of our most diverse neighborhoods.

Visual Arts

The visual arts in Arlington can be found everywhere in the community: from exhibitions on the Arlington ART Bus, to projections on building facades.

Public Art

Arlington is home to more than seventy permanent public art projects. These projects are commissioned by the County to be integrated into various capital improvement projects, commissioned by developers as part of the site plan process, and initiated by communities.
