Facility Status Notification (December 2021)

Due to the building’s current condition and aging infrastructure, it is likely that if the operations of the building are impacted due to a building system failure, the facility will be closed indefinitely.

Future decisions regarding the facility will be subject to consideration as part of the Plan Langston Boulevard process as well as future Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) development.

Finally, we note that while the Lee Community Center (Facility) name has not changed, Route 29 is now formally renamed Langston Boulevard in Arlington. Address references have been changed. In addition, and to avoid confusion between the “Lee” and “Langston” naming convention, staff has replaced all references to “Lee Arts Center” with “LAC,” to reflect the longstanding acronym used to identify the center and its programs.
