Munit Mesfin sings Roberta Flack

Celebrating the music of the multi-Grammy-winning artist, the undefinable, the most dynamic Roberta Flack with an amazing cast of musicians from the area, Munit Mesfin will be singing songs of love, of social justice, beautiful poetry with wonderful arrangements from some of Roberta Flack's extensive discography! Munit is an Ethio-American singer, songwriter who has been singing Roberta's songs since she was a little girl in Ethiopia! She has been performing in the area with Project Locrea and her family band, Munit and Z Lovebugs, performing in places such as the Strathmore, Blues Alley, the Kennedy Center, and in many festivals in the area. She loves building community with music and will have you singing and moving with her warm and adventurous performance style! Her tribute to Roberta Flack was debuted at Creative Cauldron's Passport to the World Festival, and comes now to Lubber Run to say a BIG thank you to the legendary Roberta Flack! More

The Lubber Run Summer Concert Series will run Friday, June 9 through August 11, 2023, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 11am.

Lubber Run Summer Concert Series

Since the construction of the first permanent stage in 1969, generations of Arlingtonians have enjoyed free summer cultural events at the sylvan venue nestled two blocks off Route 50, ranging from Encore Stage & Studio to bands like Raul Midón, Eddie from Ohio and superstar Ritchie Havens.

The Lubber Run Summer Concert series features free performances from a variety of genres including big band, blues, soul and orchestral music as well as cabaret to the Lubber Run Amphitheater. Working in partnership with the Lubber Run Amphitheater Foundation, we bring the very best of DC metro area arts to the heart of Arlington.

The series will run Friday, June 9 through August 11, 2023, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 11am.
