At the Arlington Employment Center, we provide an array of services that can help you develop your short and long-term employment goals. We offer free workshops, education services, job leads, career fairs, and career coaching to help you land your next job.   We support Youth (18-24 years), Unemployed & Underemployed Adults, Older Workers, Veterans, Transitioning Military and their Spouses, and People Living with Disabilities.  Need help, schedule an appointment with the Arlington Employment Center today!

Career Assessments

• Virginia Career Wizard: Free career interests & work values assessment tool.
• Skill-Up City of Alexandria and Arlington County: Through a partnership with Metrix Learning, City of Alexandria and Arlington County are offering FREE online training for our residents.  Alexandria/Arlington’s virtual training offers 5,500+ career readiness trainings, occupational skills trainings, career pathways trainings and more.

Career Counseling

• Arlington Employment Center’s Career Counseling Services: Do you need help finding a job? Do you need financial support to enroll into a certification training program? The Arlington Employment Center may be able to help.
• Out of Work Due to COVID-19? "Back2Work” will help 400 Arlington County residents who are unemployed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic by providing them with a variety of employment, training, and support services. This program serves Arlington residents, 18 and older, who are either low-income, limited-skills, long-term unemployed, or undocumented residents who were laid-off from the region’s retail, hospitality, administrative, and other industries negatively impacted by COVID-19 may apply. • Child Development Associate Training Program: An Early Childhood Education Professional is one of the fastest growing in-demand occupations. The Arlington Employment Center’s Child Development Associate Training Program (CDA) includes classroom instruction, work experience, professional portfolio development and preparation for credentialing exam..
• REEP – English Classes for Adults: The Arlington Education and Employment Program (REEP) provides English classes to adults in Arlington, Virginia. We also offer career development opportunities with English for child care provider classes, computer skills certification, and TOEFL preparation classes. Instruction at REEP integrates language, U.S. culture, digital literacy, community involvement, and workforce preparation into all courses.

Disabilities Employment Services

• Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services: Provides employment assistance to individuals with disabilities.
• Ticket to Work – Arlington’s Employment Network: Employment services for anyone receiving Social Security Disability Insurance or Supplemental Security Income Benefits due to disability between the ages of 18 and 64 and wants to increase their monthly financial outcomes. For more information, contact, Emily Hoban at 571-326- 9857.
• Job Accommodation Network (JAN): The Job Accommodation Network is the leading source of free, expert, and confidential guidance on workplace accommodations and disability employment issues.
• National Disability Institute: COVID-19 Resources for People with Disabilities: Each of these topics (COVID-19 Stimulus, Employment and Unemployment, Public Benefits, Managing Money, Housing, Food and Healthcare and Scams) contains frequently asked questions about COVID-19 and can help people with disabilities and their families understand how to deal with the current pandemic financially.

• Youth Employment Certificate (Work Permit): In Virginia, if you are 14 or 15 years of age you must have a work permit to work at a job.
