The Notice of 2022 Real Estate Assessment letters were mailed the week of January 16, 2022. If you have any questions regarding your assessment, please contact the Department of Real Estate Assessments (DREA) by calling 703-228-3920 (option 2), Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, or by emailing realog2@arlingtonva.us. DREA publishes most letters under “Assessment Notice” on your property’s page at https://propertysearch.arlingtonva.us/. If you do not see your letter there, please reach out to DREA as above.
Individuals and businesses seeking to appeal their Real Estate assessment with the Department of Real Estate Assessments have until March 1, 2022 to do so.
In addition, Arlington homeowners age 65 and older, and/or totally and permanently disabled homeowners, may qualify for Real Estate Tax Relief. Additional eligibility requirements must be met; please see link below. The Department of Human Services, which manages the eligibility process, recommends that you submit your application as early as possible (applications for 2022 taxes will be available in February), so that your application status can be reflected on the first installment (June 15) Real Estate tax bill. Applications are still accepted, however, until the final deadline of November 15, 2022. Their phone number is 703-228-1350.
