The Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP) is a program mandated by the court for individuals convicted of DUI offenses and first-time drug offenses. Upon entry into ASAP, each defendant undergoes a thorough assessment to determine the most suitable course of action, which may involve education, alcohol or drug rehabilitation, driver improvement, counseling, relapse prevention, or a combination thereof. The progress and completion of the program for each participant are closely monitored by ASAP staff, who report to the court accordingly. They verify whether defendants have fulfilled their program requirements or have failed to comply. In 2023, a total of 33 education programs were offered, with approximately 419 individuals participating in these classes.
All education is designed to prevent relapse and repeat offenses.
By Monitoring program participants. ASAP acts as a probation facility for the courts. After completing the program, defendants either receive a certification of compliance or an order to return to court for non-compliance.
