Police Department

Dedicated to the Community

The Arlington County Police Department wants those we serve to have pride that its police department is providing professional law enforcement services that reflect the values of our community. It is our goal to improve the overall quality of life in Arlington through our three key initiatives of crime prevention and control, transportation safety and community engagement. To achieve this, officers proactively patrol our neighborhoods to identify and prevent crime, use a two-pronged approach of education and enforcement to ensure the safety of all travelers on our roadways and work collaboratively with our community to build strong partnerships which are vital to public safety. We are committed to effectively communicating to ensure the public’s trust while being transparent and accountable with the Arlington community.

Ensuring the safety of all travelers while maintaining the safe and orderly flow of traffic is a top priority of the Department. We use a two-pronged approach to improving transportation safety – education and enforcement – and work collaboratively with other County agencies and community members to address areas of concern.
