Arlington County Government offices and services are operating on modified schedules for Memorial Day on Mon., May 29, 2023.
The Restaurant Liaison works collectively with government and non-profit partners to engage the community through a variety of outreach strategies to promote alcohol safety in the County.
In partnership with Lyft Mid-Atlantic and the Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP), the Arlington County Police Department (ACPD) unveiled the newest vehicle in its fleet—the SoberRide® Vehicle – on July 2, 2018. More about the SoberRide® Vehicle
The Restaurant Liaison frequently conducts in-person community engagement activities in nightlife areas around the County to promote conversation and education about responsible alcohol consumption. These events are frequently conducted in partnership with other County agencies and non-profit organizations.
Around major holidays, which are traditionally times of celebration with heavy alcohol consumption, the department engages with patrons in nightlife areas and encourages them to pledge to take a sober ride home at the end of the night, by using a designated sober driver, taxis, ride sharing services or public transportation.
