COVID-19 Service Impacts

The Arlington County Police Department remains committed to providing essential law enforcement services to our community. Out of an abundance of caution and to help mitigate and reduce any unnecessary exposure and spread of COVID-19, the Police Department has made adjustments to the way certain services are delivered to the public. While the Department remains operational, certain non-essential online and in-person services and/or processes may be delayed or suspended. We apologize for the inconvenience.

In-Person Services at Police Headquarters

Administrative Support Unit – Office of Records

Beginning Monday, October 9, 2023, the Administrative Support Unit – Office of Records hours will change. The hours of operation for the customer service counter will be:

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday and Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Staff is also available to assist customers by phone, email, or fax Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Evidence and Inventory Management Unit

Effective, June 11, 2020, the Evidence and Inventory Management Unit a will extend and modify both customer service window hours to support court services for department personnel, the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, and defense attorneys.

The customer service window hours for both units will be:

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday and Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Taxi Cab and Vendor Licensing

Updated July 21, 2022: Taxi and vendor licensing requests will be processed on Thursdays from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Online Reporting

The Arlington County Police Department continue to divert some non-emergency incidents to the online reporting system. Officers continue to respond to in-progress crimes and emergency calls for service where there is an immediate threat to life, health or property.
