Fort C.F. Smith is a 19-acre park that includes a lush tree canopy, an open meadow, a partially preserved 1863 Civil War fort and the historic Hendry House – a beautiful location for weddings, rehearsal dinners and meetings.

Rental Information

  • Four separate meeting rooms – large kitchen for caterers, front and side porches and a separate changing room for wedding parties
  • Accommodates 65 people seated, 85 people standing or up to 150 people with the addition of a tent on the adjoining lawn
  • Ample parking

  • Saturday and Sunday, 7:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Rental Fees

Hendry House – Rates

Weekday day/evening rates do not apply to weddings/receptions.

Weekdays (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) (Weddings are only hosted on Friday, Saturday and Sunday)

  • $500 (8 hours)
  • $350 (4 hours)
  • $75 for each additional hour
  • $100 Alcohol Use Permit
  • $500 Security Deposit

 

Weekday evenings (Monday-Thursday, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.)

  • $650 (5 hours) or $450 (5 hours) with proof of Arlington County residency
  • $75 for each additional hour
  • $100 Alcohol Use Permit
  • $500 Security Deposit

 

Weekends (Friday, 5 – 10 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 7:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.)

  • $2,200 (5 hours) or $2,000 with proof of Arlington County residency
  • $150 for each additional hour
  • $100 Alcohol Use Permit
  • $200 Tent Fee
  • $500 Security Deposit

 

Holiday rates same as weekend. House is not available on all holidays. 

Payment

  • $500 deposit to hold date
  • Balance due 90 days prior to event date. Balance does not include deposit.

Hendry House Guidelines & Restrictions For Renters

  • A staff member is present during the contracted rental period.
  • Arlington County staff can not sign for delivery of rental equipment or supplies.
  • NO smoking is allowed in the building.
  • Red wine is allowed. No red dye based mixed drinks may be served.
  • Please have your guest park in the parking lot located at the east-end of the park, this lot includes two spaces designated for handicapped parking. You may also park on the north side of 24th Street adjacent to the park.
  • Only the catering staff may park behind the Hendry House.
  • In order to preserve the floor, tables and chairs should be carried to their location, not dragged.
  • Please make sure your caterer is aware of condensation, drips, or spills that have occurred.
  • Plastic must be placed underneath coolers, kegs, ice tubs, or any other containers.
  • The staff member provides all cleaning materials, except trash bags (Brooms, dustpans, mop, bucket, and other cleaning supplies).

 

At the end of the rental period, you or your agent must:

  • Remove all equipment from the Hendry House.
  • Sweep all floors.
  • Mop the kitchen floor.
  • Clean kitchen counters, stove top, and sinks.
  • Remove and take with you all trash.
