Teens Making a Difference (TMAD): Youth Community Groups
Want to make a difference? TMAD (Teens Making A Difference) is a Service Club that helps students ages 12-18 plan service projects, learn leadership skills, and improve their schools and community. TMAD (and T.E.A.M.) are nationally recognized with a Transforming Local Government Innovation Award.
During the weekly meetings students learn to identify community needs and plan service projects. Examples of last year’s service projects include:
- Volunteering at an Asset Conference.
- Hosting nine parent night out events.
- Supporting the county-wide Saturday night skate program.
- Organizing canned food drives.
The program offers participants a chance to earn a stipend for work related learning programs.
