Operating Status During COVID-19

  • Do not use any Arlington County park amenity, if you have a fever, cough or difficulty breathing, or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
  • The visitor face covering policy establishes requirements for the wearing of face coverings by County residents and visitors while inside County-owned, leased, and controlled facilities, if unable to maintain a minimum of six feet of physical distance to other individuals.
    • Generally, County Staff shall wear a face covering any time they are indoors and sharing an enclosed space with another person and unable to maintain recommended physical distance.
    • County Staff in County facilities are required to wear a face covering in all common areas when nearby others and where physical distancing is not possible such as hallways, conference rooms, restrooms, stairwells, elevators, kitchen areas, lobbies, break rooms, copy rooms, supply rooms, etc.
  • All Parks & Recreation facilities are open. Click here to learn more about the parks and recreation facilities operating hours. However, Walter Reed Community Center is only open for COVID-19 vaccination and the gym at Arlington Community Center is used for COVID-19 vaccinations only. All other centers have restarted programs.

  • Park visitors are asked to adhere to the physical distancing and small group guidelines – keep at least six feet of distance from others and groups should not exceed 100 people. Wearing a cloth face covering is encouraged.
