Come celebrate the completion of the John Robinson, Jr. Town Square project at the grand opening celebration! The event will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, remarks from the County Board and the community, food trucks, live entertainment, free giveaways, programming for kids and more.

Emcee Joe Clair is a host, comedian, radio personality, on-air veteran and realtor. A native of Seat Pleasant, MD, Joe graduated from Morgan State University where he found his passion for comedy, music and communications. With a background in social work, he currently serves as a mentor and on the board for the Covenant House, DC as well as an ambassador for Metro DC HBCU Alumni Alliance. As a multifaceted entertainer and philanthropist, Joe Clair’s career has a span of three decades. Whether it is in the comedy game, hosting arena, acting, real estate or community service, he undeniably gives 100%. 

DJ Face is a member of the True School Corporation, an organization of DJs founded and run by GRAMMY Award-winning producer and DJ 9th Wonder. Currently, Face is the tour DJ for Roc Nation artist Jamla, Rapsody, as well as R&B/Soul singer Raheem DeVaughn. Face has performed in major venues nationally and internationally in places such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami, London, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Germany, Aruba and more.

The first 250 attendees will receive free event-branded giveaways.

The Read Early and Daily (R.E.A.D.) bus will be on site with free book giveaways and books for sale.

Participating food trucks include BBQ At Its Best, Kona Ice of Annandale & Burke and Tacos El Torito. Be sure to come hungry!

The first 100 youth attendees are invited to create their very own John Robinson, Jr.-inspired paper megaphones:
