CPR, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, is vital to saving the life of someone experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest.
Arlington’s “I” Program alerts fire units about the location of persons with disabilities or those who cannot evacuate on their own. This program is for residential properties only.
Hazardous materials (hazmat) are chemical, nuclear, radioactive, biological and explosive materials that pose a significant threat to humans, animals and the environment.
Operation Firesafe provides free smoke alarms to Arlington residents.
Any youth in Arlington County that has exhibited an unsafe fire behavior or an unusual interest in fire is eligible to participate in the Youth Fire Prevention and Intervention program free of cost.
Activities for kids
Older adults — those over 65 years of age — are twice as likely to be killed or injured by fires or falls. By age 75, that risk increases to three times that of the general population and four times at age 85.
