Hypothermia Shelter

Arlington County's hypothermia shelter is now open (November 2023 through March 2024). The Homeless Services Center (HSC), located at 2020-A 14th St N (Courthouse area) and operated by Path Forward, offers 50 year-round beds, five medical-respite beds, and has an additional 25 hypothermia beds during the winter months. The Residential Program Center (RPC), operated by New Hope Housing, has an additional 15 beds designated to handle overflow in the event of extremely severe weather. During this period individuals seeking emergency shelter do not have to call ahead; they can show up at the HSC and coordinate an intake with the Department of Human Services the next business day.

People staying at shelter get a safe place to sleep as well as food, a hot shower, laundry facilities, and access to a range of services through the Department of Human Services and community partners.

Where to Call for Immediate Assistance
