Arlington Springs into Wellness for a Second Year!

The Arlington Department of Human Services invites you to celebrate wellness as a community through the second Spring Into Wellness!  

In recognition of months such as Child Abuse Prevention (April), Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention (April), Mental Health Awareness (May), and Pride Month (June), we bring you a series of talks and presentations, and community wellness celebrations. Join us for one, two, or all of them!

Conversación Comunitaria sobre EANs (ACEs). May 31. 6:00pm - 7:30pm. Hybrid
Aprenda sobre ACEs, experiencias adversas de la infancia, y, lo que es más importante, cómo podemos unirnos como comunidad para contrarrestar los efectos del trauma infantil. Virtual o presencial al 2120 Washington Blvd, Room 112.

Fathers, Families, and Community Wellness Day - Leading for Legacy. June 3. 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. John Robinson Jr. Town Square, 2406 Shirlington Blvd. 
Join a celebration of wellness for fathers, families, and community at this event that is a co-creation with the Green Valley community. Enjoy entertainment, DJ, food, moonbounce, and community resources – and plenty of fun! Separate registration required.

Teen Talks on Mental Health. June 5. 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Virtual.
The Teen Network Board will highlight ways that they work to improve mental health outcomes among teens in Arlington county.

Safe Zone Training. June 6. 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 n. Fairlington Community Center, 3308 S. Stafford Street, Room 118. 
Safe Zone training is an opportunity to explore concepts of sexuality and gender, learn more about LGBTQIA+ identities, and examine prejudice, assumptions, and privilege. Join us so that we can work to create safer and more inclusive environments together. Separate registration required.  

OUTstanding Pride Celebration. June 8. 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Bozman Government Center Plaza. 2100 Clarendon Blvd. 
Celebrate Pride with OUTstanding, the organization for Arlington County employees who are LGBTQIA+ and their allies. Enjoy the DJ, snowcones, popcorn. All are welcome to this FREE event.  

Enriching Care for LGBTQ+ Older Adults of Color. June 15. 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Virtual
This webinar will examine how racism and discrimination impact LGBTQ+ older people of color. Participants will learn why LGBTQ+ older adults of color may have different needs and relationships with their identity and explore best practices for making services more inclusive. Separate registration required. Sponsored by DHS Aging and Disability Services Division; Presented by SAGE USA.  

Marcus Alert Community Event. June 24. 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Walter Reed Community Center, 2909 16th St S. 
Marcus Alert is a coordinated way to respond to someone who is having a mental health emergency. We invite you to come out, meet emergency responders while enjoying moonbounce, games, snacks, prizes and more! All are welcome to this FREE event!
