General District Court

The Arlington County General District Court and Clerk's Office is open to the public 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday- Friday.

At this time, our phone system is currently down and we are unable to receive any outside phone calls. This disruption is being addressed as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience in this matter and will have the systems back up as soon as possible.

 


The General District Court is comprised of the Judges’ Office and the Clerk’s Office.

The General District Court:

  • Handles misdemeanor cases and holds preliminary hearings to determine probable cause in felonies
  • Presides over involuntary mental commitment hearings for Arlington County.
  • Has exclusive jurisdiction over claims for damages not greater than $25,000.
  • Processes records such as criminal warrants, civil cases, and traffic summonses.
