Register to Speak at the September 23rd Regular County Board Meeting

As a matter of routine practice, the County Board approves a request to advertise (RTA) for ordinance adoptions and amendments, so that the public has ample notice of upcoming Board actions in addition to the notice already provided under law. If the County Board approves a “request to advertise,” the proposed ordinance will be advertised in a newspaper of general circulation and the public will have the opportunity to review, engage and provide comment prior to the Board taking action at the next specified Board Meeting to actually consider the ordinance for adoption. 

Note: Approval of the RTA is not adoption of a proposed ordinance.  Approval of an RTA is not a legal requirement, and the Board may adopt an ordinance without first approving an RTA, such as ordinances approved on an emergency basis.
