Norron Lee

Department of Technology Services (DTS) and Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Norron Lee started his role as the director of the Department of Technology Services (DTS) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Arlington County on August 15, 2022.

In this leadership role, he oversees the County’s information technology (IT) services and IT operations teams to ensure a safe and secure online environment. His portfolio includes overseeing all aspects of the County’s telecommunications, data privacy, cybersecurity, web services, and keeping up with emerging technologies.

Mr. Lee first joined Arlington County in April 2022 as the deputy Chief Information Officer. Prior to Arlington County, Mr. Lee was the first chief data officer for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), where he also served as deputy CIO.  He has also served as the information systems security officer for Marine Corps Systems Command, senior principal information assurance analyst for QinetiQ North America, and senior program manager for General Electric.

Mr. Lee began his career as a United States Marine, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service while delivering results in high-pressure and fast-paced environments. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Internetworking Technology, and master’s degrees in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity. He also enjoys sports, hiking, weightlifting, and is the proud father of three children who reside in Massachusetts.
